GOOD...? BYE ?

For a long time, I struggled to believe this.
Even reading and hearing those words repeated, they felt empty. How could something definitive and painful can be good?
Letting go is part of life. It’s not always a bad thing; it’s "necessary", it's a starting over, a rebirth, a reconstruction.
So, once again, I embraced this truth; it became easier to know when to hold on — and when it was time to let go. But what do we do with this emptiness? This hollow silence that follows? Strange... heavy...
SAUDADE,
a Portuguese word that means a profound emotional state of nostalgic longing for someone or something that has been lost and may never return. An emotional feeling we face when we disconnect from people, places, or moments that once meant everything; it’s a word that cannot be translated, it’s a feeling, a state of mind...
Saying goodbye is not easy; it's like sitting with emptiness. It's a necessary chapter before we can truly move on. This intermediate space — where what was is gone, and what comes next has not yet begun — is a space where we have to face finality, find acceptance. And acceptance is not passive. It's work. It's choosing every day not to go back. It's resisting the urge to relive memories like a highlight reel, hoping that something will change.
Whether we are bidding farewell to a person, a phase of life, a job, or a version of ourselves, one thing remains true: goodbyes leave a mark and will always be a part of our story. Sometimes, that mark is painful; it brings powerful lessons — lessons we may not understand until everything makes sense.
We grow through letting go.
We discover ourselves in silence and, slowly, we begin to realize that our foundation in a world now seems different from before.
Holding on... there is hope.
What I hope for, more than anything, is that when we find ourselves in this strange space — after goodbye and before the new beginning — we hold on your hope.
I hope the pain is softened. I hope a new "hello" is coming to bring some light. I hope the end is just SAUDADE, an empty space that you can start to rebuild, just a pause before the next chapter begins.
Because there is always a new sunrise. And when it arrives, may we be ready — healed, open, and unafraid to start again.
Much Love and Hope,
Ana
